How to wire a ceiling fan with separate switches for light and fan?
I have a new house that has two separate switches for light and one for a ceiling fan. It is a 3-son (red, black, white and ground) to light existing ceiling with red and black only son. Fan has a new roof over one black and white on one side of the box remote control and three son types (black, white and blue for the connection to the light ceiling fan). I would like a diagram to show the cables to connect to the ceiling fan?
You can connect the fan control through the remote or through two switches, but not both. Well, this is not quite true, but bear with me here. The remote operates both the fan speed, and generally obscures the light. If what you want, with wireless remote. Then, you can use a switch to power the fan and any light. If this is what you want, then connect the red to black in the distance and white to white. On the other side of the remote should have colors that match the colors the fan and light.
