PAPER LANTERNS.! fire hazard.?

i am re`doing my bedroom.! haha well i am buying items
from pbteen.com ; ; they do not have stores in malls like the
regular pottery barn or pottery barn KiDS, yet it is online. well
i have always wanted paper lanterns in my room, i have know
ideaa why but i always thought they were b e a u t i f u l (: haha
ohhkayy well my best friend used to have them but hers were
just the paper, they didn’t have the light inside. well on pbteen.com
they have these paper lanterns && i was wondering if they may
be a fire hazard? because since there is a light bulb in side of
paper, wouldn’t it be a hazard.? well i need to know because i
dont want to ask my mom to buy me it && than when i turn it on
it bursts into flams. hahaha what a pretty picture in my head ):
well please help.!

Paper shades of any kind CAN be dangerous IF the light SOURCE inside can create enough heat to ignite the paper.

In looking at the link you provided I note that the “light kit” sold separately APPEARS to have a very small light SOCKET suggesting a lamp bulb which is small, and thus does not create enough heat to ignite the lantern shade.

I recommend NO candles or open flame light sources, AND NO light bulbs larger than 7 WATTS MAXIMUM [the "larger" Christmas light strings usually use a 7 Watt bulb].

If a small light [no larger than 7 Watts] is CENTERED in the shade [thus as far as possible from the paper], that usage should be safe.

Yes, you could use them without any light, OR maybe you could find and use a small battery operated LED light source suspended inside the shade.
