How do I change a linear halogen bulb?
I’ve got this type of bulb fitted in few ceiling lights, and I have been unable to change them. I have unscrewed the bolts on both sides, but there is still no give and some people say one side should be on a spring to enable the bulb to come out when pressed to one side then pulled downward – but there is no give there as well. I have been able to pull out the old bulb (only ‘cos it broke from my frustrated efforts) but now I have to fit a new one in and I can’t apply too much force now – I don’t want to break this one. What can I do? the wires come into the sides of the fixture, and go into the some sort of bolts – I have unscrewed them, but the bolts are on either sides of metal brackets, which are almost the same size as the bulb – so no change there after unscrewing the bolts…
try sticking one end in the bracket and pushing if there is a spring you will feel it if so put one end in push and pop it into the other.If it has two prongs them it should slide into a slot twist to secure.and some just snap in Its hard to say without seeing it just be gentle whatever you try.I hope I helped some
