What is a good color to paint a large bedroom with a high ceiling?
I have a bedroom that I am absolutely stumped on how to paint without it looking ludicrous. I’ve tried pastels, a beigey shade, a dusky purple and several others. But much as I try,I’m always aware of the walls looking conspicuously tall and ominous rising above me.
Of course I could go with white but that just seems SO stark and uninviting.
My room gets a lot of light, keep in mind.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Try this – paint the ceiling in a lighter color than the walls, and with a significant contrast to the wall color. Bring the ceiling paint down onto the walls for 1-3 feet – this will have the effect of dropping the ceiling and shortening the wall height. Your room will seem much more cozy.
