Does anyone know if this is against the codes?
We have a room outside the nursery, we used as a second floor porch and one of the former owners closed (sloppy) to create more living space. They everything is cheap and half a ** ed and we try to make something presentable this room today. My question is … the only source of light in this room is a type of ceiling fluorescent light – mounted on the wall. Is near the top of the wall near the ceiling, but not the ceiling. I do not want to tear the roof of the electricity to power a lamp good roof because the roof is one of the things were done correctly. Would it be acceptable if We have a pendant light, wired into the space where the fluorescent light (above the wall) and then got a hook and prints at half roof? I know so good like you would if it restores the light, but we try to do whatever the lowest cost possible at present.
The type of light you describe is legal as long as the cable is protected by a chain or something similar. Height of light can hang is much more dangerous and is covered by building codes. Top of head, of course, except for a dining room table, then you may be less
